Biography

Trumpet player Serge Plume performs mainly with various big bands, such as the internationally famous Brussels Jazz Orchestra.

Serge Plume studied classical trumpet at the Gent Royal Conservatoire, after which he specialized further at the jazz department of the Hilversum Conservatoire. He was only 18 when he joined the BRT big band (the then national broadcasting company) and started working with pianist and conductor Michel Herr’s Act Big Band. Big band music gradually became his home turf and he has been seen playing with various orchestras such as the WDR Big Band (Köln), the HR Big Band (Frankfürt), The Skymasters (Hilversum), The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), L'Orchestre Régional de Jazz (Lille), Caratini Jazz Ensemble (Paris), El Tattoo del Tigre (Antwerp), ...

On our W.E.R.F. label he can be found playing with Belgium’s most famous big band, the Brussels Jazz Orchestra.
