Biography
His expertise spans old music, symphonic music, opera, present-day classical music, chamber music, light entertainment, ... He has played with over 50 orchestras or ensembles and been spotted on large music stages such as Festival van Vlaanderen, Ars Muscia, Tromp Muziek Biënnale, ... Together with Gert François, Jan Michiels and Inge Spinette he made the first Belgian recordings of Béla Bartók’s Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion.
In 2006 he performed at the Brussels Brosella music festival with no less than jazz legend Mike Mainieri. Big ethnic music names such as Trilok Gurtu and Madjid Khaladj have also worked with him, and he has been heard with various Belgian jazz groups such as Dreamtime, Jambangle, Brussels Jazz Orchestra, ...
Bart is also a respected teacher at the Brussels Conservatoire and has been invited to teach at the Conservatoires of Amsterdam, Paris, Seoul and Tokyo.
