Bruno Vansina started playing the saxophone at the age of 9. At secondary school he was introduced to the music of Zappa, who will continue to inspire him all through his musical career.
He also discovers illustrious saxophonists like Sonny Rollins, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Dexter Gordon, Cannonball Adderley, Ornette Coleman, ... At the Antwerp Conservatoire he is taught by John Ruocco and meets Teun Verbruggen, with whom he sets up an intense musical co-operation.
In the Belgian jazz landscape, he can be found in ensembles such as In Orbit, Tokio Quantize, Trio Music, ... He is also one of the long-standing members of Flat Earth Society (FES) and has his own Bruno Vansina Quartet, with whom he has recorded on our label.
