Biography

American saxophonist Eric Person has been active on the New York and international jazz scenes for more than twenty years. He has worked with Dave Holland, McCoy Tyner, Chico Hamilton and the World Saxophone Quartet, to name but a few. Over the years he has specialized in the alto sax and flute.

In 1993 he was invited to join Dave Holland's band, with whom he recorded the album Dream of the Elders. That same year he released ‘Arrival’ (his first album as leader) on the famous Soul Notes Records label. Soon after, his second album 'Prophecy', was released and awarded four stars by the prestigious Downbeat Magazine. His 1997 album 'More Tales To Tell' also received four stars.

In 1999 he started his own band, Eric Person & Meta-Four, with whom he is still active today.

Eric has been living part-time in Belgium for quite some time now and mainly works alongside Chris Joris.
