Fulco Ottervanger is a Dutch multi-instrumentalist, composer and improviser. At the age of 7 he starts playing the cello, which is soon followed by piano, guitar, bass guitar and drums. Already at a young age, he writes his own numbers and compositions.
His first piano teacher was Jozef Dumoulin. At the Gent Conservatoire he did jazz piano with Erik Vermeulen and classical composition with Frank Nuyts.
He is front man with rock band Stadt and the De Beren Gieren piano trio, who were artist in residence at Vooruit Arts Centre in 2012. Other groups are the Nathan Daems Quintet, BeraadGeslagen and SH.TG.N. He is also an avid composer for classical ensembles.
Between 2009 and 2011 he was Artist in Residence at Trefpunt vzw, the number one organizer behind the Gentse Feesten.
