The international online magazine AllAboutJazz refers to Harmen Fraanje as ‘emerging as one of the most impressive young European pianists of the past decade’.
This Dutch pianist is indeed a musical jack-of-all-trades who can be found in myriad projects. His own trio with Clemens van der Feen and Flin van Hemmen is very well received internationally and has already played with American saxophonist Tony Malaby. He also co-operates closely with internationally famous Dutch cellist Ernst Reijseger and Senegalese singer Mola Sylla. He also plays with guitarist Anton Goudsmit, clarinettist Rudi Mahall and drummer Samuel Rohrer in a new band.
He is a member of Robin Verheyen’s Narcissus Quartet, with whom he appeared on our label.
