Biography

Jim Black is one of the main export products of the New York downtown scene and a source of inspiration for many a young drummer.

In the course of his full career, he has played with John Zorn, Dave Douglas, Tim Berne, Chris Speed, ... He also has his own band AlasNoAxis, in which he walks the thin line between rock and jazz. On our own label he has recorded with the Defoort-Turner-Thijs-Black group, founded under the impulse of pianist Kris Defoort.
