Drummer Klaas Balijon grew up in Amsterdam and started drumming at the age of eight. As a teenager he enrolled at the Music School of Amsterdam and in graduated with distinction at the Conservatory of Amsterdam in 2007.

Since then he has developed into a much in demand drummer in the Netherlands and abroad. He played, among others, with the European All-Star Big Band, Glen Miller Orchestra, Brussels Jazz Orchestra, Brussels Philharmonic and the Dutch Jazz Orchestra and could be seen alongside artistes such as Tom Harrell, Maria Schneider, Dave Douglas, Deborah Brown, Lee Konitz, Eric Vloeimans and the like.
