Saxophonist Kurt Van Herck gained his first musical experiences at the local music school and fanfare. He went to Antwerp at the age of 16 to study at the Kunsthumaniora and then the Antwerp Jazz studio. Here he came into contact with his mentor John Ruocco, who taught him the tricks of the jazz trade.
Another inexhaustible source of inspiration is Jacques Pelzer. He won the Django D'Or as jazz musician in 1997 and the First Choice of Flemish radio listeners in 1999. As a musician he is active in numerous projects and has been a permanent member of the Brussels Jazz Orchestra for many years. He could also be seen in other big bands such as the Act Big Band, Dizzy Gillespie Big Band and the European Broadcast Union.
