Biography

Polish bass player Maciej Garbowski obtained a Master’s Degree of Jazz and of Classical Music at the Polish Academy of Music in Katowice. From 2002 to 2005 he was active with the Aukso Chamber Orchestra under Marek Moś. He is also co-founder of the trio RGG. Since 2007 he has been a member of illustrious Polish trumpet player Tomasz Stańko’s New Balladyna Quartet.

In the course of his career he won various prizes, including the 2003 and 2007 First Prize at the Jazz Blizzard Festival and dhe Public’s Prize at the 27th International Jazz Festival Getxo in Spain. His group RGG won various awards such as Album of the Year in the Polish media ...

In 2010 he represented Poland at the International JazzPlaysEurope project, with which he appeared on our W.E.R.F. label.
