Biography

Upon hearing Ron Carter on Miles Davis' album ‘My Funny Valentine’, Italian bass player Rosario Bonaccorso gradually made the world of jazz his own. In no time he became Italy’s sideman to the likes of Enrico Rava and Stefano di Battista. He can also be heard playing with Dado Moroni, Roberto Gatto, Eric Legnini, ...

Italian born Rosario Bonaccorso started his musical career playing the electric bass and singing. His band Monzino d'Oro had an idiosyncratic repertoire, consisting of own compositions as well as covers of groups such as Led Zeppelin and Genesis. It is with this group that, at a very young age, he was elected the ‘best up and coming band’.

Today he has excellent ties with the Belgian jazz scene and has played in projects by saxophonist Frank Vaganée and trumpeter Bert Joris, with whom he can be heard on our label.
