Biography

Alongside the trumpet Sam Versweyveld also plays the much less used flugelhorn. As a student he initially enrolled in a classical music department, but soon veered towards jazz. He moved to the Leuven Lemmens Institute, where he studied with master trumpet player Bert Joris.

As a musician he soon made a name for himself as being extremely versatile and open-minded. That explains why he appears in jazz projects but also funk bands and latin bands. In our catalogue he can be heard with the Chris Joris Experience and The Chris Mentens Jazz Van. He also plays with Jaune Toujours, Los Callejeros, Jambangle and has performed with the live band of famous house producer Buscemi.
