Biography

Yannick Peeters began her musical education with classical piano but also added double bass after a few years. She took her first jazz steps during a jazz apprenticeship in Dworp, where she was taught by Italian double bassist Riccardo del Fra, Stefan Lievestro, Bas Cooijmans and Philippe Aerts.

Later on she studied jazz at the Conservatory of Antwerp with Piet Verbist and Gulli Gudmundsson. She also joined several workshops led by, among others, Gary Peacock, Nicolas Thys, Jos Machtel, Mark Murphy, Rob Madna and David Liebman. Yannick can be heard in various ensembles and with several established names in the Belgian scene such as Kurt Van Herck, Dré Pallemaerts, Frank Vaganée, Christophe Erbstösser, Sara Meyer, Mimi Verderame, Bart Van Caenegem, Fre Desmyter, Yves Peeters, Steven Delannoye and Ewout Pierreux.
