At the age of 14 Yves Peeters got what he’d been dreaming of for years: a drum set! He immediately started taking lessons at the music school, played drums in the local band and soon started a band with several friends.
He started listening to jazz at the age of 17 and a year later he moved to Leuven to take lessons at the jazz department of the Lemmens Institute . During and after his studies Yves took drum lessons with, among others, Dré Pallemaerts, Billy Hart and Keith Copeland and took part in several music apprenticeships in Belgium and abroad. He regularly sets up his own projects but equally enjoys being the sideman in various groups.
He can currently be seen live at work with, among others, aNoo, Cpt. Koons, Koen Nys Quintet, Utz and with his own Yves Peeters Group.
