Description

Guitarist Frederik Leroux’ great respect for tradition continues to guide him along the new ways he paves for himself. He draws inspiration not only from jazz, but also modern concert music, minimalism, surrealism and free improvisation. Apart from the present trio he also performs with, among others, the Belgo-American Sammy’s On The Bowery, the Kristen Cornwell Quintet and the Yves Peeters Group, with whom he has already recorded on our label (Sound Tracks, W.E.R.F.082).

Young German bass player Robert Landfermann already boasts quite a record of music achievements. He has toured the world alongside illustrious names like Joachim Kühn, Tomasz Stanko, Django Bates and Simon Nabatov. In 2009 he was awarded the WDR Jazzpreis as well as the Culture Award of his home town Cologne.

Fellow German and drummer Jonas Burgwinkel was also awarded the WDR Jazzpreis and won the much coveted European Jazz Competition at the North Sea Jazz festival. He has also performed at various concerts with the likes of Dave Liebman, Lee Konitz, Uri Caine, ...

The three young musicians love to experiment together and dabble with timbre/atmosphere to create their very own musical universe. The result is its own brand of top-notch, exciting music!
