Description

Dating from October 1997, ‘The queen of the apple pie’ is the first release by the Laurent Blondiau Quintet. The band has been touring together for more than two years, performing Blondiau’s original compositions. The spacious, relaxed sound of the group is given a fusion feel by the presence of Hertmans’ electric guitar, recalling the pioneering experiments of Miles Davis with John McLaughlin.

Having said that, ‘The queen of the apple pie’ is definitely contemporary, with Blondiau’s highly personal tone complimented by four very exciting young players.
