Ook Steven Delannoye voelt zich als een vis in het water in The Big Apple. In 2009 werd hij na zijn studies aan het Lemmensinstituut geselecteerd om via de fel begeerde BAEF (Belgian American Educational Foundation) scholarship een jaar te studeren aan de befaamde Manhattan School of Music in New York. Hier leerde hij bassist Desmond White en drummer Jesse Simpson kennen, met wie hij het Steven Delannoye New York Trio oprichtte.

Met dit trio ging hij het afgelopen jaar intensief op tournee en nodigde als gast niemand minder uit dan Frank Vaganée, artistiek leider van en saxofonist bij het Brussels Jazz Orchestra. Deze tournee resulteerde dan weer in een eerste live plaat “Uptown”. Dit smaakte naar meer en in april 2013 besloten ze zich een week in De Werf op te sluiten voor de opnames van hun debuutplaat op ons W.E.R.F.-label: 'Here Comes Tomorrow'.

Het repertoire wordt opgebouwd uit originele composities van alle groepsleden, waarbij het overgrote deel van de signatuur is van leader Steven Delannoye. De intrigerende dialogen tussen de twee saxen, nemen de luisteraar mee naar de hoogdagen van de jaren ’50, zonder gedateerd te klinken.
